Pests

We are constantly under attack.
I am going to try to create a list of the pests which we get, and how to deal with them.
My first line of defense is that I have a wild area on the allotment.

I don't do anything here. There is a pond somewhere under the overgrowth.
The theory I have is that there is somewhere safe for birds and frogs to hide, and that they can help me by eating some bugs.
The wildflowers here also encourage the bees to visit.

Sometime, we are lucky enough to get ladybirds visiting. They are great removers of aphids

As I get pictures and solutions, I will create a new page for each bug/pest.

On the Allotment we have seen a Fox family. The cubs are cute, and annoy the Magpies. They have left evidence that they visit our plot. To be honest, I can put up with holes dug in the veg beds. I won't be classing these beautiful animals as pests, when all said and done, its just veg!
